[더뉴스=심재복 타지키스탄 취재본부장] 박병석 국회의장과 에모말리 라흐몬 타지키스탄 대통령이 양국의 우호관계를 재확인하고, 한국의 자본·기술과 타지키스탄의 자원을 결합하는 ‘윈-윈’(win-win) 경제협력을 추진키로 의견을 모았다.
National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon agreed to reaffirm the friendly relations between the two countries and to promote “win-win” economic cooperation that combines Korea's capital and technology with Tajikistan's resources.
중앙아시아를 순방 중인 박병석 국회의장은 1일 오후(현지시간) 타지키스탄 대통령궁에서 라흐몬 대통령을 만나 “1992년 수교 이후 좋은 관계를 유지해온 타지키스탄과 한국은 좋은 동반자이자 친구”라고 말했다.
National Assembly Speaker Park Byung-seok, who is on a tour of Central Asia, met President Rahmon at the Tajikistan Presidential Palace on the afternoon of the 1st (local time) and said, "Tajikistan and Korea, which have maintained a good relationship since diplomatic relations in 1992, are good partners and friends."
대한민국 국회의장 최초로 타지키스탄을 공식 방문한 박 의장은 라흐몬 대통령에게 문재인 대통령의 안부를 전하면서 “독립 30주년을 축하드리고 기쁘게 생각한다”며 “타지키스탄이 여러 난관을 극복하면서 안정적으로 발전한 것은 라흐몬 대통령 지도력이 바탕이 됐다고 생각한다”고 덕담을 건넸다.

라흐몬 대통령도 “우리도 중앙아시아의 안정과직결되는 아프가니스탄 상황을 평화적으로 해결하기 위해 이스탄불 프로세스를 가동하고 있다”면서 “그런 점에서 한국의 한반도 평화프로세스 노력을 지지하고 환영한다”고 말했다.
President Rahmon said, "We are also operating the Istanbul process to peacefully resolve the situation in Afghanistan, which is directly linked to stability in Central Asia," and said, "In that regard, we support and welcome Korea's efforts for the peace process on the Korean Peninsula."
이에 박 의장은 “중앙아시아 역내에 평화를 위한 라흐몬 대통령과 타지키스탄 정부의 노력을 높게 평가한다”며 “(타지키스탄이) 한반도 평화프로세스를 일관되게 지지해주셔서 감사하다”고 화답했다.

평화를 위한 한국과 타지키스탄의 공동 노력에 공감한 박 의장과 라흐몬 대통령은 양국이 상호 보완할 수 있는 경제협력을 추진하자는 데 뜻을 같이 했다.

박 의장은 “타지키스탄이 외자 유치를 위해 자유경제지대를 만들어 노력하는 것을 높게 평가한다”며 “타지키스탄 국가발전전략의 4대 핵심인 에너지, 식량안보, 산업 다변화, 인프라 확충은 양국 관계에도 적용이 가능할 것”이라고 말했다.

그러면서 “올해 초 한국의 두샨베 분관이 대사관으로 승격됐다. 하반기에 코이카(KOICA·한국국제협력단)의 사무실도 열리면 양국의 경제협력이 한 단계 더 발전할 것”이라며 “무상협력 ODA(정부개발원조·Official Development Assistance) 자금 규모도 늘고 업종도 다양해질 것인데, 구체적 사업을 제안해 주시면 협의할 준비가 돼 있다”고 말했다.

라흐몬 대통령은 “문재인 대통령에게 각별한 안부를 전해 달라”며 한국 대통령의 타지키스탄 초청 의사를 밝혔으며, 이에 박 의장은 “대통령의 방문 초청에 감사드린다. 우리 정부에 전달하겠다. 적절한 시기에 방문이 이뤄지기를 기대한다”고 했다.

코이카를 통한 자국 학생들의 한국 유학 기회를 늘려달라는 라흐몬 대통령의 부탁에 박 의장은 “귀국 후 코이카에 전달하고, 관련 정부기관과도 논의하겠다”고 긍정적으로 답했다.

박 의장은 면담 후 현지 언론인 20여 명과 즉석 브리핑을 갖고 “라흐몬 대통령의 국가발전에 대한 열정에 주목하게 됐다”며 “이번 기회를 통해서 경제, 문화 그리고 각 방면에서 양국의 협력관계가 한 단계 격상할 것”이라고 기대감을 나타냈다.
